Intro: E A9 E A9 E A9 B B/F#

Verse: E A9 repeated
Now she's thinking of the red soil and the mango trees

In her mind she's still splashing round out on cable beach

And her eyes are as rich and as far away as the sunset there

She's not taking in a word I say
       B A9 E A9 B B
Well I might as well be talking to myself

Chorus:
        E B
Take it in,
  A B
take it all in
E A B B
Now is a time that will not come again
        E B
Take it in,
  A B
take it all in
E A9 B B
This is a day that is here for the living
Verse: E A repeated
So we step outside into this Melbourne weather

With a shock it brings her back to where she is

Now we've made this place our home

Surrounded by unknown

Stick it out until it comes together

Chorus:

Take it in, take it all in

Now is a time that will not come again

Take it in, take it all in

This is a day that is here for the living
C#m B C#m C#m7 C#m
We're just living for a day to come or days gone by
      E A9
Never taking in each moment
 C#m A9 B B/F#
Never knowing what you had until it passed you by
Chorus:
Take it in, take it all in
Now is a time that is here for the living

  NOTE
Vicki plays Take It In live with a capo on the second fret instead of open. So
  instead of the chords being E , A and B , they should be D , G , and A. The bridge
should be B , A instead of C#m , B. It sounds much better with the capo. Melissa
