------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IN THE COLD, COLD NIGHT - The White Stripes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: Roxanne Email: sweet_em_jay@yahoo.com Tuning: Standard This is my first attempt at tabbing something, so be nice. I was looking up the same song on this site and the one already here sounds wrong compared to the song, but then I may be wrong too (but I doubt it considering it sounds perfect when played against the actual song), so any improvements or comments are much appreciated. Lyrics are included at the bottom. e|-----------------------------------------------------------------| B|---1/3---x---3/6---x---6/8---x---8/10---x------------------------| G|-----------------------------------------------------------------| D|-----------------------------------------------------------------| A|---3/5---x---5/8---x---8/10--x---10/12--x------------------------| E|-----------------------------------------------------------------| repeat ^that^ a couple of times, then Meg comes in: e|-----------------------------------------------------------------| B|---1/3----x----3/6----x----6/8----x----8/10----x-----------------| G|-----------------------------------------------------------------| D|-----------------------------------------------------------------| A|---3/5----x----5/8----x----8/10---x----10/12---x-----------------| E|-----------------------------------------------------------------| "I saw you standing in the corner.." etc. It's basically that, except at the end of the verse: e|---------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---1/3----x----3/6----x----6/8----x----8/10----x-----------6\3-------| G|---------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---3/5----x----5/8----x----8/10---x----10/12---x----5/8----8\5-------| E|---------------------------------------------------------------------| "I saw you standing in the corner... Come to me again..." Mostly that for the first two verses until you get up to the third verse: e|-----------------------------------------------------------------| B|--1/3----x--1/3----x--1/3----x--1/3----x-------------------------| G|-----------------------------------------------------------------| D|-----------------------------------------------------------------| A|--3/5----x--1/3----x--1/3----x--1/3----x-------------------------| E|-----------------------------------------------------------------| "I see you... ...I hear the... e|-----------------------------------------------------------------| B|--5/8----x--5/8----x--1/3----x--1/3----x-----------6\3-----------| G|-----------------------------------------------------------------| D|-----------------------------------------------------------------| A|--5/8----x--5/8----x--1/3----x--1/3----x----5/8----8\5-----------| E|-----------------------------------------------------------------| I don't care... ..I'm going to... ...come to me again.." Then the next few verses in much the same fashion, until the bridge which i think is powerchords (not sure bout this part, though): e|---------------------------|---------------------------------------------| B|---------------------------|---------------------------------------------| G|---------------------------|---------------------------------------------| D|--7/---12-12-12--10-10---7-|----5/7------------5\3-----------------------| A|--7/---12-12-12--10-10---7-|----5/7------------5\3-----------------------| E|--5/---10-10-10--8--8----5-|----3/5------------3\1-----------------------| x3 "Come to me again, in the cold, cold.." Then it's just the first part over again a few times and the song ends. TIPS: Between each slide, take the pressure off your fingers so the strings are muted (x) and pluck the 5th string and then the 2nd string (going with the beat). I think that's how Jack does it, c'z it's not completely silent between the slides on the cd. It sounds pretty cool, too. I'm not exactly sure how the bridge part goes, I play it the way it is above and it sounds fine, but as far as I know everything else is perfect.
