• Song:

    Who Are You

  • Artist:

    Tom Waits

  • Album:

    Eurovisions (disc 2)

How this song, slows and then pauses, seems to be in a seriously
strange time signature, or maybe several, and am pretty sure
some of the chords need work/adjustment, but seeing as there's not
not another version up here on ultimate guitar, let's just consider
this as a place to start.

                          WHO ARE YOU
                     *** CAPO 3rd FRET ***
 C F C
Well they're linin' up, To mad dog your tilt a whirl
 C C
Three shots for a dollar, Win a real live doll
              Am Em F G
All the lies that you tell, I believed them so well
      G C F C
Take them back, Take them back to your red house
      C
For that fearful leap in to the dark

              Am Em F G
Oh well, I did my time, In the jail of your arms
         F G
Orphelia wants to know, Where she should turn
              C F C
Tell me what did you do, What did you do the last time
      C F C
Why don't you do it, Go on ahead, And take this the wrong way
      C
     Time's not your friend

            Am Em F G
Do you cry, Do you pray, Do you wish them away
                  Am Em F G
Ahh, You're still leaving nothing, But bones in the way
              Am Em F G
Did you bury the carnival, With the lions and all
       G C
Excuse me while I, Sharpen my nails
               C F C
And just who are you, Who are you this time
          C C
You look rather tired, Are you pretending to love
      C F C
Well I hear that it pays well

                   Am Em F G
How do your pistol and your bible, And your sleeping pills go
               Am Em F G
Are you still jumping out of windows, In expensive clothes
             Am Em F G F G
Well I fell in love, With your sailors mouth, And your wounded eyes
                Am Em F G
You better get down on the floor, Don't you know this is war
              F G C F G C
Tell me who are you this time, Tell me who are you this time
