"Midna's Desperate Hour" Guitar Tabs - Toru Minegishi (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight
Princess, 2006)

Arranger's Note: This music was originally played on piano, which is great for playing
arpeggios and fusing bass, rhythm, and melody all at once. The guitar on the other hand,
cannot do that so simply. Shown below are the main and rhythm melodies respectively to
"Midna's Desperate Hour"; one of the most popular songs recognized by those who enjoy
"Twilight Princess" (my favourite game as of late).
It will take time to move from one chord shape seamlessly to the next in this
song, and it will take even more effort to make the rhythm section flow. This song
should sound as legato as possible, as it was played on a sustained piano. The entire
song is repeated as well, oh, and mind the repeat at the beginning. The result is
beautiful as well as a form of honing good techniques to keep working on for future
songs. This song is indeed quite a 'stretch' to master, and you?ll see what I mean!
I do find that this first version is easier to play, but I prefer for each bass
note (starting note of each arpeggio here) to be held. With this in mind, I have
arranged an arpeggio sequence at the bottom that adapts the D- and A- chords so that the
bass notes could be rung out through the entire sequence.
I suggest playing this if you feel the same way or just looking for an added challenge.
This song is played in standard tuning. I have arranged it in 6/8 time, but I
could easily see this being written in simple triple time, such as in 3/4 time.
