These are tabs that explain roughly how it's played on guitar not including everything. The things I did tab are 100% correct though! Repeat this sequence e---------------------------------------------------------------------| B-------5---8---5---------------------------5-------------------------| G-----------------------7---9-----------9---------------9p7--7h9--9p7-| D---7-----------------------------------------------------------------| A---------------------8--------------8---------------8----------------| E---------------------------------------------------------------------| After the above sequence, the second guitar comes in: This is being repeated as well e-------------------------------------------------------| B-------------------------------------------------------| G-------------------------------------------------------| D----7-------------5----------5----------2--------------| A----8------8h10---7-----7\5--3----3h5---0-----------7--| E-------------------------------------------------------| Tremolo picking section, third guitar: e--12----------17----15------8----10---8-10-12----| B-------------------------------------------------| G-------------------------------------------------| D-------------------------------------------------| A-------------------------------------------------| E-------------------------------------------------| Repeat this e---12---------17----15------20-----19---17--12---| B-------------------------------------------------| G-------------------------------------------------| D-------------------------------------------------| A-------------------------------------------------| E-------------------------------------------------| This is what's played the 3rd or 4th time (not sure, forgot) After repeating the tremolo part twice some piano is added which is quite difficult to hear. I advise you to let your emotions do some slow improvisation here!! The song is about feeling, so add your own! This is an example of a string and the notes which you can improvise on: e-1--3--5--8--10--12--15--17--19--20--22 I like the higher notes on the lower e-string especially for this song and I use a slow rythm for them using slides and bends quite a lot After that at around 4:58 the 3 sequences stop. This part comes after: Guitar 1 starts first: G--10--10--10--10--10--10--10--10-10--5--5--5--5--5--5--5--5-5--| D---------------------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------------------| G---------------------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------------------| A--7--7--7--7--7--7--7-7----------------------------------------| After that guitar 2 comes in at approx 5:10 e------15------13------13--12----| B--13------13------13------------| G--------------------------------| Repeated for some time D--------------------------------| A--------------------------------| E--------------------------------| At 5:17 e--------------------------------| B----10-10-10--10--10--8--6--8---| G--------------------------------| x1 D--------------------------------| A--------------------------------| E--------------------------------| e-------------------------------| B----10-10-10--10--10--8--6--5--| G-------------------------------| D-------------------------------| A-------------------------------| E-------------------------------| e-------------------------------| repeat upper and lower e-------------------------------| B----10-10-10--10--10--8--6--8--| G-------------------------------| D-------------------------------| A-------------------------------| E-------------------------------| Distortion kicks in at 6:24 e---------------------------------| B---------------------------------| G----10---------5-----------------| Repeat this sequence D----10---------5--------7--------| A----8----------3--------7--------| E------------------------5--------| This is btw done with 2 different rythms, just follow the drums.. There's also a lot of tremolo picking on the e-string on very high pitch notes, also distorted. I advise you to improvise a bit on this and play what feels right I'm not going to tab all of that tremolo picking right there. Part after that(8:32): e--------------------| B---10----11----13---| G--------------------| Repeat this part 3 times! D--------------------| A---8-----10----12---| E--------------------| e--------------------| B---15----17----18---| G--------------------| This is the 4th in the sequence D--------------------| A---13----15----17---| E--------------------| After this the previous two sections are repeated along with tremolo picking on the e-string For more info about Arrive Alive visit http://www.thesirenssound.com/2009/02/12/arrive-alive-monumental-catastrophies/
