This is the title track from The Final Cut album, their last with Waters. I noticed the chords on the internet technically had the right chords, but didn't know that this song played with a capo on the 3rd fret. This simplifies it quite a bit I think. If you hit the high notes with your voice, you can play it like this, minus the capo. Capo 3 D A Through the fish eyed lens of tear stained eyes G D I can barely define the shape of this moment in time D A And far from flying high in clear blue skies G D I'm spiraling down, to the hole in the ground where I hide G D If you negotiate the minefield in the drive, G D and beat the dogs, and cheat the cold electronic eyes, G A Bm and if you make it past the shotguns in the hall, Em7 Dial the combination... open the priesthole A And if I'm in, I'll tell (BOOM!) F#m D There's a kid who had a big hallucination F#m A Making love to girls in magazines G Bm He wonders if you're sleeping with your new found faith... Em7 Could anybody love him? A D Or is it just a crazy dream? A G D D A And if I show you my dark side G D Will you still hold me tonight? D A And if I open my heart to you, G Show you my weak side... D What would you do? G D Would you sell your story to Rolling Stone? G D Would you take the children away, and leave me alone? G A Bm And smile in reassurance as you whisper down the phone, Em7 Would you send me packing? A D ...Or would you take me home? F#m D F#m A G Bm Em7 D F#m D Thought I oughta bare my naked feelings, F#m A Thought I oughta tear the curtain down G I held the blade in trembling hands, Bm Prepared to make it but... Em7 Just then the phone rang. E I never had the nerve to make The Final Cut
