This is my first time uploading on here, so I apologize in advance if these are wrong, I would gladly accept any corrections! I am a 15 year old girl and I have a really big passion for guitar so I would accept any criticism :) I found a lot of the posts on here for this song weren't correct and after countless times listening to the song, and seeing other peoples versions of the way they perform this song, this is what I came up with. Please feel free to correct me. The strumming pattern is kind of difficult because it's so complex, but I'll try my best to explain it. For the first two verses it's a sixteenth note strum. 1st set of G Cadd9 - G Cadd9: D-DDU-UD-DUDU 2nd set of G Cadd9 - G Cadd9: D-DDU DC: D-DDU-UD-DUDU Chorus strumming pattern. G Cadd9 - G Cadd9: D-DDU-UD-DUDU GDC: D-DDU G: D-DDU-UD-DUDU C: Down The little extra verse thing that I indicated I didn't know what exactly was. I just used D-DU-U-DU For the 3rd and final verse. G // C x4 DU D G Cadd9 - G Cadd9: D-DDU DC: D-DDU-UD-DUDU Sorry if that was bad, if you still don't understand I used the video at the following link to help me understand. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71O-QCpnB7s Verse 1: G Cadd9 We both lie silently still, in the dead of the night G Cadd9 Although we both lie close together, we feel miles apart inside G Cadd9 Was it something I said, or something I did, G Cadd9 did my words not come out right? D G Though I tried not to hurt you, though I tried, but I guess that's why they say Chorus: G Cadd9 Every rose has its thorn G Cadd9 Just like every night, has its dawn G D C Just like every cowboy sings a sad, sad song G C Every rose has its thorn Bridge: Em D C G / Em D C Solo: G C G C / Em D-C G-Em D / C Verse 2: G Cadd9 Listen to our favorite song playing on the radio G Cadd9 Well the DJ says loves a game of east come and easy go G Cadd9 G Cadd9 But I wonder, does he know, has he ever felt like this D C Well I know that you'd be here right now if I could let you know somehow, I guess Chorus: G Cadd9 Every rose has its thorn G Cadd9 Just like every night has its dawn G D C Just like every cowboy sings a sad, sad song G C Every rose has its thorn (Not completely sure what this is) EM D C G Though its been awhile now, I can still feel so much pain EM D C G Like a knife that cuts you the wound heals, but that scar remains G-Cadd9 (x2) Verse 3: G Cadd9 I know I coulda saved our love that night if I'd known what to say G Cadd9 instead of making love we both made our separate ways G Cadd9 G Cadd9 and now I hear you've found somebody new, and that I never meant that much to you D C to hear that tears me up inside, and to see you cuts me like a knife, I guess Chorus: G Cadd9 Every rose has its thorn G Cadd9 Just like every night has its dawn G D C Just like every cowboy sings a sad, sad song G C Every rose has its thorn Outro: E ----------------| B ----------------| G ----------------| D --------0-------| A ------0---------| E --0-2-----0-----| One strum: G
