[Sukiyaki (Ue O Muite Arukou) by Kyu Sakamoto] {**capo on 7th fret**} This can be tuned five half-steps down from Standard tuning, in B-tuning (B E A D F# B) but preferably capo-ed on 7th fret and played with higher tones higher up on the guitar. Included are the phonetic lyrics; note that A, E, I, O, and U sounds are pronounced ah, eh, ee, oh, ooh, respectively. Hyphens denote where a regularly one-syllable sound is divided and sung as two syllables and two notes (ie. the 3-syllable word "muite" in the song is sung as 4 syllables, "mu-uite"). I chose the C-Am-F-G chords because they're easy to play and transition between (and to avoid chords like B7, Fdim, D7...), even though it has to be transposed up 7 steps to match the actual track. This has been interpreted for easy playing/ reading. It helps a lot to listen to the track to figure out the timing of the chords if it is not so apparent on this page. Hopefully this helps you learn the lyrics as well as the chords. Enjoy playing along. --------------------------------------------------------------- [INTRO] C Am G F-G7 [VERSE 1-1] C Am C Am Ue o mu-uite aruko-ou C Am F G Namida ga kobore nai yo-ou ni C G Em7 Am Omoidasu haru no hi F G C-Am-G-G7 Hitoribo-otchi no yoru [VERSE 1-2] C Am C Am Ue o mu-uite aruko-ou C Am F G Niji-inda hoshi o kazoe-e-ete C G Em7 Am Omoidasu natsu no hi F G C Hitoribo-otchi no yoru [CHORUS 1] F F C C Shiawase wa kumo no ue ni F Fm Am G Shiawase wa sora no ue ni [VERSE 2-1] C Am C Am Ue o mu-uite aruko-ou C Am F G Namida ga kobore nai yo-ou ni C G Em7 Am Nakinagara aru-uku F G C-Am-G-G7 Hitoribo-otchi no yoru [VERSE 2-2] C Am C Am -whistling melody- C Am F G -whistling melody- C G Em7 Am Omoidasu aki no hi F G C Hitoribo-otchi no yoru [CHORUS 2] F F C C Kanashimi wa hoshi no kageni F Fm Am G Kanashimi wa tsuki no kageni [VERSE 3-1] C Am C Am Ue o mu-uite aruko-ou C Am F G Namida ga kobore nai yo-ou ni C G Em7 Am Nakinagara aru-uku F G C-Am-G-G7 Hitoribo-otchi no yoru F G C-Am-G-G7 Hitoribo-otchi no yoru...
