Rage Against the Machine - Maggie's Farm Drop B Tuning (Low to High): B-A-D-G-B-E To get your guitar into drop B tuning, the 6th string at the 10th fret should be the same as an open 5th string. H=Hammer On, P=Pull Off, ^=Bend, ~=Vibrato, /(or)=Slide, t=tremolo picking INTRO: E-12--12--12--12--10--10--10--10--------------------| B---12--12--12--12--12--12--12--12------------------| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| E-12--12--12--12--10--10---10-----------------------| B---12--12--12--12--12--12--------------------------| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------| B--------------------------------------18----------| E---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------2-----------| A-----------------------------------0-2---2-0-------| B-0-0-3p0-0-0-0-3p0-0-5--0-0-3p0-0-0---------5-3----|x3 FIRST VERSE: E---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------| B-0-0-3p0-0-0-0-3p0-0-5--0-0-3p0-0-0----------------| Palm Muted Throughout ^ Then toward the end of the first verse he does this: E---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| G-----2---------------------------------------------| D-----2---------------------------------------------| A-------------------------2-------------------------| B-0-0-----------------0-0-5-------------------------| Then there's the second verse: E---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------| B-0-0-x-x-0-x-x-0-x-x-x-x-0-0-x-x-0-x-x-0-x-x-x-x---| Play that a couple times, then when it picks up a bit play THIS: E---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------| B-0-0-3p0-0-0-0-3p0-0-5-0-0-3p0-0-0-0-3p0-0-5-------| Then it picks up even more, and you play this part: E---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A-12-12-12-12-1212-12-12-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-----------| B-10-10-10-10-1010-10-10-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-----------| Then when it calms back down play through this: E---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------| B-0-0-x-x-0-x-x-0-x-x-x-x-0-0-x-x-0-x-x-0-x-x-x-x---| Then this: E---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A-12-12-12-12-1212-12-12-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-----------| B-10-10-10-10-1010-10-10-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-0--19----| Then a small interlude: E---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| G-9#---------------------9#-------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| #-Pre Bend 1 full step, then release. Then it's the guitar solo - really, it's a bunch of recordings overlapping each other, you can't play them all at once, but here's how it would go if you COULD play them all at once - i tried to show when each note would get struck, just pick one row to play. E---------------------------------------------------| B--10^----10^---------------------------------------| G--4t-10^-4t-10^------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| On all the bends, do it with a whammy bar and then slowly release the note to just below original pitch, then let go and let it pop back to normal. The reason you can't play this solo is because all the bends are overlapping - you're still in the middle of one when you're supposed to start the next one. Do whatever you want with that. Also, you can't tremolo pick and bend at the same time. Solo continues below; the tremolo picking 4th fret continues, as does the G string 10th fret thing. This is over the top of that - cancel out the B string 10th fret, replace with this. E---------------------------------------------------| B-10#--10#--10#--10*--10*--10#--10#--10#--10*--10*--| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| On #, slowly bend upwards with bar then release to original pitch. On *, Pre bend with bar, then release to original pitch. Now play the INTERLUDE part again. Then at the end of this interlude, play this modified form of the intro: E-12--12--12--------10--10--10----------------------| B---12--12--12-------12--12--12-------------------| G---------------------------------------------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------x-7---------------x-7---------------| B---------------x-5---------------x-5---------------| X2 Now towards the end, it gets a little confusing - just throw in chopped up bits of the part just after the intro (the first verse, the BEGINNING of the first verse actually) and random bends of the 9th and 7th frets on the 3rd string, the G string, and farther along parts like this: E---------------------------------------------------| B--12------12--------------------12-----------------| G--14^--14-14^-14-14-14-14-14-14-14^--14------------| D---------------------------------------------------| A---------------------------------------------------| B---------------------------------------------------| That's really the whole song - just figure out which parts go when in the song, it's not too hard.
