Transcribed by Eric Norcross This is the version I?ve been playing since I first learned the song back in high school. I?ve added a lot of improvisations since then, so it?s not exactly like you would hear when Tonic plays it acoustically. So don?t expect it to be dead on. This was one of the first songs I learned front to back and to this day, somehow manage to impress myself with it. ***Capo on 1*** ? This is usually relative to voice, but I can?t stand playing it any other way regardless. Also, the capo on 1 is normal for this song. Most of this is open/basic chords, except when the part comes up ?Sayin? you love but you don?t?, I like to use bar chords for C & G. This is the only time I utilize the bar form. Of course most performers use the bar form on the verse chords as well, but I prefer open when playing it acoustically. Lastly, a lot of people have issues figuring out the strumming pattern. This cannot be explained. You just have to take is slow and work your way up to the speed and rhythm that best fits YOU, even if it means adding bars to the song to make it work. Over time though, you?ll figure out the best way to perform it for yourself.
