"Well we've been doing this song all over the UK and we haven't brought it to the
mainland yet.
But it's very interesting. It deals with...It's called Sweetbreads...it deals with the
issues, the numerous issues involved in consuming the vital organs of an animal.
And everywhere we go, we find out that 'sweetbreads' means a different thing. I guess
that's why they call it 'variety meats'...
But, anyway... It's a really awful song. Here we go:"

G
when i was a little boy
  Em
i threw away my action toys
      C D/F#
while i became obsessed with operation

       G
with hearts and minds and certain glands
    Em
you learn to keep a steady hand
    C D/F#
and thus began a morbid fascination

with

Am7 D7 G Bm7/F# C
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetbreads
         D/F# G G7
i could taste what you were thinking
Am7 D7 G Bm7/F# C
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetbreads
         D/F# G
thats the taste of neurons blinking

       G
do you wonder where the self resides
       Em
is it in your head or between your sides
     C D/F#
and whos gonna decide its true location

             G
cause its a question for the centuries
       Em
from communion to mad cow disease
           C D/F#
but is it worthy of a song or lifes vocation

          Em
and the sweetest sweetbread of them all
 Emb6
within in a kingdom of afar
  Em6 D/F#
called them thoughts and metaphor-inations
Adim7
they called them

Am7 D7 G Bm7/F# C
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetbreads
         D/F# G G7
i could taste what you were thinking
Am7 D7 G Bm7/F# C
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetbreads
         D/F# G
thats the taste of neurons blinking

          G
does the thought of biles red and black
     Em
the thought of tounges that taste you back
 C
fill you with a noisey oscillation

        G
where a simple trip to the grocery store
     Em
can fill you with an object horror
        C D/F#
can you taste the misery of those crustations

          Em
and the sweetest sweetbread of them all
 Emb6
within in a kingdom of afar should've
  Em6 D/F#
caused some silent machinations
Adim7
they call them

Am7 D7 G Bm7/F# C
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetbreads
         D/F# G G7
i could taste what you were thinking
Am7 D7 G Bm7/F# C
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetbreads
         D/F# G
thats the taste of neurons blinking

            D/F# G
aw, I could taste what you were thinking
    C D/F# G
oh, give me your thoughts about sweetbread
