• Song:

    String Me Along

  • Artist:

    Anthony Raneri

Catchy little song from Bayside's Anthony Raneri from the I Surrender record's' "Our
Voices" EP.

This is a pretty basic version, but sounds just fine when playing on an acoustic.

I play it in half-step down - but you could probably play this in standard too.

It's not as light as the studio version, but without the synth etc - i think this is a
pretty god 'open mic' version.

Verse 1:

G Em Am D G
When I was younger, I thought I could tell what was real.

G Em Am D G
But truth came a'calling, in lipstick, and red six inch heels.

Bridge:

G Em Am D D
Wo-oh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh-oh Wo-oh-ah-ah-oh-oh-oh

G Em Am D D
Wo-oh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh-oh Wo-oh-ah-ah-oh-oh-oh

(you can also repeat the intro/main riff here as well)

Verse 2:

G Em Am D G
As I've gotten older, and older, I've picked up some things

G Em Am D G
A brave callous soldier, There's steel now where once there was skin

Chorus:

G Em G D
Use me if you want my baby, leave though I know I should

G Em Am D G
String me along 'round the neighbourhood since that makes you feel so good

Bridge:

G Em Am D D
Wo-oh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh-oh Wo-oh-ah-ah-oh-oh-oh

G Em Am D D
Wo-oh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh-oh Wo-oh-ah-ah-oh-oh-oh

Verse 3 (ring out):

     G Em Am D G
I'll never ask questions, no matter what you put me through

     G Em Am D G
Cause I've always been lonely at, least now I'm lonely with you

Chorus:

G Em G D
Use me if you want my baby, leave though I know I should

G Em Am D G
String me along 'round the neighbourhood since that makes you feel so good

G Em G D
Use me if you want my baby, leave though I know I should

G Em Am D G
String me along 'round the neighbourhood since that makes you feel so good

Bridge:

G Em Am D D
Wo-oh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh-oh Wo-oh-ah-ah-oh-oh-oh

G Em Am D D
Wo-oh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh-oh Wo-oh-ah-ah-oh-oh-oh

(repeat to fade / you get bored)
