Artist: Black
Song: Sweetest smile
Tabbed by: DJ
23rd Feb 2014

Tuning: Standard

CAPO: 4th fret (Sounds in the key of C#m)

On the Abbey Road live acoustic version, in the middle sax break,
I think he just alternates between E and E4,
adding the(b9)just makes it a bit more 'exotic',
and more like the single version.
He also misses out a lot of the repeat verses at the end,
and finishes on an Am9(x07500).

(In some more recent live concerts Colin Vearncombe plays the song
a semi-tone lower, in Cm, with a capo at the 3rd fret)

Chord names are relative to capo position:
Am        = x02210              B7     = x21202
(Asus2) = x02200 E7sus4 = 020200
Cmaj7/G = 332000 E7 = 020100
Fmaj7add6 = 103230 or xx3230    E4b9   = x23200

I think my heart must be made of clay,
       Fmaj7add6 Am
'Cause everyone said it would be broken some day,
   Fmaj7add6 Am
And now I've come to that fateful day,
     B7 E7sus4 E7
So I sit on the floor with my head in my hands!

     Am (Asus2) Cmaj7/G
And don't tell me how to make it pay,
  Fmaj7add6 Am
I write a new song--- every day----,
Fmaj7add6 Am
I just wish I was made of wood,
             B7 E7sus4 E7
I might not feel pain... even if I should,

            Am Cmaj7/G
Even if I should! (Ba, ba-ba! Ba - oo! Ba, ba-ba!
    Fmaj7add6 E7sus4 E7
(Ba - oo! Ba, ba-ba! Ba, oo -oo, oo -oo, oo!)

      Am Cmaj7/G

      Am (Asus2) Cmaj7/G Fmaj7add6 Am
The sweetest smile that ever did melt the pats in the butter-dish,
    Fmaj7add6 Am B7
And, if you could have be - lieved in me, well, I swear to God,
            E7sus4 E7 Am (Asus2)
...I'd have made damn sure our hearts were warm,
   Cmaj7/G Fmaj7add6 Am
And glad with wine, I'd keep the doors locked all the time,
Fmaj7add6 Am
I just wish I was made of wood,
               B7 E7sus4 E7
You might not seem glad, ...even if you should,

              Am Cmaj7/G
Even if you should! (Ba, ba-ba! Ba - oo! Ba, ba-ba!
