I think the song is played as follows (or it sounds kinda okay when I scratch my 
way through it ;-)

Three chords: A, D and E, played in that order.

Play those chords using the alternating bass as shown below...stick a downstroke between 
those notes...

The first 0 underneath the A is the last 0 in the intro above...
