I would advise to listen to the track, but He starts out playing the first verse on the 5th string only

Also, I'm pretty sure he's using a modulation delay effect on the guitar on the lead parts

pluck 1st string 9th fret then hammer on the 1st string 7th and 9th fret then pluck 2nd
