"I wish I was a girl"

Along with "All of my friends" this is the coolest song on the album
you need two guitars, or one acoustic and you can forget the riff at the bridge and play rhythm (I think it sounds best on acoustic)

Follow up to "goodnight elizibeth" (Recovering the satellites)

Esus4: 022200

Intro/verse (the E-riff)
E Esus4 E Esus4 E

this riff until...
"You're surprised, and then you wake."

Prechorus

Abm A
For all the things you're losing.
		    E Esus4 E
You might as well resign yourself to try and make a change.
Abm A
And I'm going down to Hollywood.
		     B
They're gonna make a movie from the things

That they find crawling round my brain.

Chorus

A B C#m
   I wish I was a girl
   B A
So that you could believe me
    B C#m B
And I could shake this static every time
	 A
I try to sleep
  B C#m
I wish for all the world
     B
That I could say
       E F#
"Hey, Elizabeth, you know I'm doing all right
      A B
These days."

Teh Bridge

The E riff...
and then...this with the E riff after another verse, or two and a chorus

--9--9--7--7----
----9--9--9--9--
----------------
----------------
----------------

		  A
And in one of these dreams
	E
You forgive me.
		    F#m
It makes me think of the bad decisions
     A
That keep you at home.
	  E A
How could anyone else have changed,
F#m
    But these are wrong conclusions
     A
That leave you alone.
	  E A
How could everyone rearrange?
	  E A
How could everyone else have changed?
       F#m A
What I see I believe.

E
For all the things I'm losing
                 E Esus4 E
I might as well resign myself to try and make a change.
Abm A
And I'm going down to Hollywood.
		     B
They're gonna make a movie from the things
That they find crawling round my brain.

Chorus again

Second bridge (counting crows have so many wonderful emotional changes in their songs)

F#m A B
F#m A B
F#m A B

	     F#m A B
Well I can't sleep at night.

Well I can't sleep at night.
	     F#m A B
Well I can't sleep at night.
	     F#m A B
