She might be wearing a green chemise
      F#m F#maddD F#maddC#
And a hat that she bought 'cause it matches her jeans
        E E7 E6
And the water she drinks well it comes from a stream
       A E E7
By the house she might win in that hospital lottery

    A Asus A
And I might be stumbling and cursing them all

When she picks me up from the place that we both call

first of the month or in my case, 15th

This is good as far as I can tell
           A D
It's still heavy as hell when it's good
      D
And I do like the road
           E
But I'd be better at home
       A
I will pine for the oak streets
    F#m E
And pine for the cedars and you

    A Asus A
Been around I suppose I have chatted and chewed
       F#m F#maddD F#maddC#
I have lugged my guitar to the nice caf? blues
    E E7 E6
And when I come home I am coming home
        A E E7
To this street and these avenues

        D E
This is good as far as I can tell
           A D
It's still heavy as hell when it's good
      D
And I do like the road
           E
But I'd be better at home
       A
I will pine for the oak streets
    F#m E E7
And pine for the cedars and you

This is the version I've seen Dan play a few times. It matches to the cd fairly
nicely but don't feel obliged to keep the E6 or F#maddC# in there. I find the
extra notes just fill it out a bit more.
Listen to the song for timing. Its dead easy! Be creative! Enjoy :)
