This track was also on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. Son Of A Preacher Man Daniel Gebhardt's submition is pretty much spot on. The intro riff is very slightly out, which i've tabbed out below. / = slide up \ = slide down < > = natural harmonic E -------12-<12>------------- B -11/12------------13\12---- G -12/13------------14\13---- D -----------------------14-- A --------------------------- E --------------------------- If anyone is interested in the bassline, it's very simple, and is based around major pentatonic shapes. It starts like this: G -----9--9----------------------------9--9------------------------- D ----------------------9--9h11-------------------------9--9--9h11-- A -7----------7--7h9/11-----------7--7--------7---9/11-------------- E ------------------------------------------------------------------ then just follows the root notes with the occasional major pentatonic run. E major pentatonic: G -----------------9--11--13- once you've got that shape down, D ----------9--11------------ you can start it on any note to get A 7--9--11------------------- that note's major pentatonic, eg. if you E --------------------------- play the same shape starting on the 7th fret of the E string you've got Bmaj pentatonic. Hope this makes sense. cmon_feel_the_noise@hotmail.com
