Elton John - Your Song
----------------------

Although there are already 6 different versions of this song here (Ver2 actually
contains 2 separate versions), I don't think any of them have got it exactly
right, so here's my effort.

The song is, of course, in the key of E-flat Major (as in Ver3), so you need a
capo on the 1st fret in order to play it in D Major. However, I find that it's
much easier to play it in C major (i.e. Capo 3), because, for example,

whereas Am/F# is quite easy to play, Bm/G# is beyond my poor skills!

Nevertheless I've also included the chords for D major, to make my version
easier to compare with the other versions of the song.

Intro: [C] [Fmaj7/C] [G] [F]

[C]It's a little bit [Fmaj7]funny, this [G/B]feeling in[Em]side
[Am]I'm not one of [Am/G]those who can [Am/F#]easily [F]hide
[C]I don't have much [G]money, but, [E]boy if I [Am]did
[C]I'd buy a big [Dm7]house where [F]we both could [G]live [Gsus4,G]

[C]If I was a [Fmaj7/C]sculptor, (heh,) [G/B] but then again [Em]no
Or a [Am]man who makes [Am/G]potions in a [Am/F#] travelling [F]show
[C]I know it's not [G]much but it's the [E]best I can [Am]do
[C] My gift is my [Dm7]song, and [F] this one's for [C]you [Csus4,C]

[G/B] And you can tell [Am]everybody [Dm7] this is your [F]song
[G/B] It may be [Am]quite simple but [Dm] now that it's [F]done
I [Am]hope you don't mind, I [Am/G]hope you don't mind
[Am/F#]That I put down in [F]words,
How [C]wonderful [Dm7]life is while [F]you're in the [G]world [Gsus4, G]

[C] [Fmaj7/C] [G] [F]

[C]I sat on the [Fmaj7/C]roof [G/B] and kicked off the [Em]moss
Well a [Am]few of the [Am/G]verses, well they've [Am/F#]got me quite [F]cross
[C]But the sun's been quite [G]kind, while I [E]wrote this [Am]song
[C]It's for people like [Dm7]you that [F] keep it turned [G]on [Gsus4, G]

[C]So excuse me for[Fmaj7/C]getting, [G/B] but these things I [Em]do
[Am] You see I've for[Am/G]gotten if they're [Am/F#] green or they're [F]blue
[C]Anyway, the [G]thing is, what I really [E]mean [Am]
[C]Yours are the [Dm7]sweetest eyes [F] I've ever [C]seen [Csus4,C]

[G/B] And you can tell [Am]everybody [Dm7]this is your [F]song
[G/B] It may be [Am]quite simple but [Dm] now that it's [F]done
I [Am]hope you don't mind, I [Am/G]hope you don't mind
[Am/F#]That I put down in [F]words,
How [C]wonderful [Dm7]life is while [F]you're in the [G]world [Gsus4, G]
I [Am]hope you don't mind, I [Am/G]hope you don't mind
[Am/F#]That I put down in [F]words,
How [C]wonderful [Dm7]life is while [F]you're in the [C]world
[Fmaj7/C] [G] [F] [C]
