Intro explanation:

For the A chord, switch between these two chords...

Then switch to either of these options for the D chord.  Strictly speaking option 1 is what is played
but I think they all work and you might find some of the other options easier to play.

D chord option 1:

D* XX4232 (leave your fingers in a D shape and use your pinky to reach to the 4th fret)

D chord option 3:

* for finger placement, 1 = index finger, 2 = middle finger, 3 = ring finger, 4 = pinky
