(G) She walks around the block with a silver plated cutter on her shoulder (Cadd9) to
chase the wolves off when they come. She'd rather fight (C) than run, so just be aware. (G)
Everybody thinks she's crazy. I think maybe she just needs a (Cadd9) patient ear to
listen to her stories, let her know somebody cares (C) and there's a person there. (G)

(Em7) I gave her a pair of shoes for (C) Christmas. (Em7) She looked up and smiled and
said (D) somebody must've listened.

(G) I got shoes on. My (C) feet are off the (D) ground. Thank you (G) Jesus, this old
(C) world won't get me (D) down. As (Em7) long as I got (D) prayers to pay and (Cadd9)
bills to pay and (G) I'm still breathin' (C) air and there's a person there.

(G) Last one she told me she was all down on her luck when the (Cadd9) landlord wanted
her to kill her ex for a little money and a (C) truck. Mmm, but I ain't scared. (G)
Layin' in my bed I hear the water run, the ceiling creak, (Cadd9) I don't think she ever
sleeps. But I love to hear those (C) feet upstairs 'cause there's a person there. (G)

(Em7) Who knows? Maybe I'm a litte (C) crazy too. But (Em7) crazy people always seem to
(D) pull each other through.

(G) Her name's Sophia but she makes me call her mama and I don't (Cadd9) mind 'cause my
family's far away. It's nice sometimes, when (C) life ain't fair, to know there's a
person there. (G)
