    Whenever I Run

I've seen this song tabbed a few times...to my ear, the
others are close but not quite there. I usually see the
chord at the beginning of each verse phrase as Am7...this
is actually an Am. The Am7 doesn't match the moodiness
of the song...I don't think it's used at all.

There's a delicate difference between the F and Fmaj7
in this song, too. The F chord is used during the meat
of the song with Fmaj7 only showing up in the bridge
and at the end of the chorus. A subtle difference but
one worth using to preserve the feel of the song.

In the true spirit of a bridge, it should
lead away from the normal progression of the song.
I've seen the bridge tabbed as Am7 being the first chord
of each phrase, this is actually an Em. The bridge is Em to Fmaj7 (x3)
then G to F on the final line. And watch for the Em Fmaj7
combo at the end of the chorus leading into the bridge...it sets
up this Em to Fmaj7 volley in the bridge.

Try it! Comments welcome!

VERSE:

Am G C
I've seen that darkness on the edge of town,
Am G C
The sun come up and the rain fall down.
Am G C G
And I've been a fool, yeah I've been around.
Am G C
And when the world got to much for me,
Am G C
I took off and left a memory.
Am G C G
Thinking I'd find something better for me somehow,

Oh but now:

CHORUS:
           F
Whenever I run,
                            C
Instead of running into the blue
  G F
I follow my heart.
                  Am
And there in your arms
   C
Is where I find the love I need,
Dm
And the best is yet to come,
F Am Fmaj7 Am Fmaj7
Baby you're the one I run to.

VERSE:

Am G C
I used to quit when it got too tough,
Am G C Am
Throw in my cards when I was down on my luck.
G C G
But baby you mean too much to me, So now,

CHORUS:
           F
Whenever I run,
                            C
Instead of running into the blue
  G F
I follow my heart.
                  Am
And there in your arms
   C
Is where I find the love I need,
Dm
And the best is yet to come,
F Em Fmaj7
Baby you're the one I run to.

BRIDGE:

Em Fmaj7
I never could stay in one place too long,
Em Fmaj7
I never could stand that still.
Em Fmaj7
Oh, but you changed so much in me,
    G F
And now I know I will.

VERSE:

Am G C
I'm gonna stay where the love is right,
Am G C
I'm so tired of being a bird in flight.
Am G
 Good love takes work
C G
 Oh, but that's alright,

That's alright.

CHORUS:
           F
Whenever I run,
                            C
Instead of running into the blue
  G F
I follow my heart.
                  Am
And there in your arms
   C
Is where I find the love I need,
Dm
And the best is yet to come,
F Am
 You're the only one.
  F C
Instead of running into the blue
  G F
I follow my heart.
                  Am
And there in your arms
       C
That's where I find the love I need,
Dm
And the best is yet to come,
F Am Fmaj7
Baby you're the one I run to.
              Am Fmaj7
The one I run to.
              Am Fmaj7
The one I run to.
