• Song:

    Autumn Days

  • Artist:

    Misc Traditional

This is how I remember playing this one. I've labelled it Chords as the tab parts
are small and just extras.

Note that NC = No Chord (i.e. stop playing for a second or two).
//// = play that many down-strokes.
The two riffs are non-essential, but I think they sound good in it; they are best
played by a second guitarist.

VERSE 1
C G Am E
Autumn days, when the grass is jewelled
         C G Am E
And the silk inside a chestnut shell
C G Am E
Jet planes meeting in the air to be refuelled
           C G Am NC
All these things I love so well

CHORUS
NC C G Am E
So I mustn’t for-get
              C G Am E (Riff 1)
No, I mustn’t for - get
    C G Am
To say a great big thank-you!
   E F / / / /
I mustn’t forget.

VERSE 2
Clouds that look like familiar faces,
And a winter’s moon with frosted rings.
Smell of bacon, as I fasten up my laces
And the song the milkman sings.

CHORUS

VERSE 3
Whipped-up spray that is rainbow-scattered,
And a swallow curving in the sky.
Shoes so comfy though they’re worn out and they’re battered,
And the taste of apple pie.

CHORUS

VERSE 4
Scent of gardens when the rain’s been falling,
And a minnow darting down a stream.
Picked-up engine that’s been stuttering and stalling,
And a win for my home team.

CHORUS

Riff 2
