    Hurrian Hymn No 6

  • Artist:

    Misc Traditional

This is the oldest known song, A Sumerian hymn from 1400 BCE.

This is based on the Dr. Richard Dumbrill interpretation, arranged by Clint Goss

It's essentially a melody that has a bass accompaniment, however the bass part just alternates between a low B
(B2), and a high B (B3), so I tuned my A string up a whole step to a B, and my low E string down a fourth to a
B, so my guitar was tuned to B-B-D-G-b-e, therefore allowing you to just alternate between the open strings for
the bassline.
   !!Disclaimer!!
Always be careful tuning strings up!

Also, it switches between 4/4, 3/4, and 2/4 almost constantly, so don't be confused
by the uneven measure lengths

And repeat. Or improvise on this. Not sure how the Sumerians would've done it, but there's several
interpretations along those lines on the web.
