Like many songs on the Greendale album, this song is in Drop-D tuning: (DADGBe)

Main Riff/Intro: Here are the different variations.
e|----------------------| e|-----------------|
B|----------------3-1-3-| B|-----------3-1-3-|
G|----------------2-2-4-| G|-----------2-2-4-|
D|----3-5-3-------0-3-5-| D|-5-3-------0-3-5-|
A|-5--------5-3-5-------| A|-----5-3-5-------|
D|----------------------| D|-----------------|

e|-------------------| e|-----------------|
B|-------------3-1-3-| B|-----------3-1-3-|
G|-------------2-2-4-| G|-----------2-2-4-|
D|-5-7-5-3-----0-3-5-| D|-3---------0-3-5-|
A|---------5-5-------| A|---5-3-5-5-------|
D|-------------------| D|-----------------|

The verse riff if just a simplified version of the main riff:

e|---------------|
B|---------3-1-3-|
G|---------2-2-4-|
D|---------0-3-5-|
A|---------------|
D|------0--------|

The solos are different variations on this scale:

e|-13-12-10------------------------------------------------|
B|----------13-12-10---------------------------------------|
G|--------------------13-12-10-----------------------------|
D|------------------------------13-12-10-------------------|
A|---------------------------------------13-12-10----------|
D|------------------------------------------------13-12-10-|

Here's an example of one of the solos:

e|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------13~---12~---10~---|
G|----10-12-10----------------------------|
D|-12----------12-10-12-------------------|
A|----------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------| (~ = let ring)

I haven't gone through the whole song to figure out each piece of the solos, but
he usually ends each verse with a different solo. If you stick to the scale most of,
if not all, the notes are there. It's basically the same notes as the main riff, but
higher.
