Nine Days : If I Am

Tabbed by : Dan Arnold
Standard tuning
Capo 4th fret

Ok.. I saw two other posts of this song and they were both
correct in some parts and wrong in others. Also they had
some really weird names for some of the chords, so I combined
the two other posts and came up with this. It sounds better I think.

Chords:

 G D Em7 F Cadd9 Dsus4
-3- -2- -3- -1- -3- -3-
-3- -3- -3- -1- -3- -3-
-0- -2- -0- -2- -0- -2-
-0- -0- -2- -3- -2- -0-
-2- -X- -2- -3- -3- -X-
-3- -X- -X- -1- -X- -X-

Intro:

 G D Em7 F Open strings
-3- -2- -3- -1- -0-
-3- -3- -3- -1- -0-
-0- -2- -0- -2- -0- Just repeat this through out the verse.
-0- -0- -2- -3- -0-
-2- -X- -2- -3- -0-
-3- -X- -X- -1- -0-

G D
So your standing on a ledge,
                          Em7
It looks like you might fall. So far down,
F G
Or maybe you were thinking about jumping.
                       D
Now you could have it all,
                          Em7
If you learned a little patience!
                     F
For though I cannot fly,
                      G
I'm not content to crawl!...
                      D
So give me a little credit,
                      Em7
Have in me a little faith!
                        F
I want to be with you forever,
                        G
If tomorrow's not too late!...
G D Em7
But it's always too late when you've got nothing
      Cadd9
So you say!... --3--------3-
                --3--------3-
                --0--------0-
                --2------0-2-
                --2--0h2---3-
                --X--------X-

Cadd9 D Em7
But you should never let the sun set on tomorrow,
Cadd9
Before the sun rises today...

Chorus:

G D
If I am
Em7 Cadd9 Em7
Another waste of everything you dreamed of
D Cadd9
I will let you down
G D
If I am
Em7 Cadd9 Em7
Only here to watch as you suffer
D Cadd9
I will let you down

So your walking on the edge,
And you wait your turn to fall.
But you're so far gone,
That you don't see the hands upheld to catch you.
And you could find the fault,
In the heart that you've been handed!
But though you cannot fly,
You're not content to crawl!...

And it's always too late when you've got nothing
So you say!...
But you should never let the sun set on tomorrow,
Before the sun rises....

If I am!
Another waste of everything you hoped for,
I will let you down...
If I am!
Only here to watch you as you suffer,
I will let you down...

Bridge:

Once again I´m to lazy to write out the strumming pattern but just use these
chords andlisten to the record and you will get it right.

  D Dsus4 Em7 Cadd9
-2---3---2---3---3---3-
-3---3---3---3---3---3-
-2---2---2---2---0---0-
-0---0---0---0---2---2-
-X---X---X---X---2---3-
-X---X---X---X---X---X-

So you're standing on a ledge,
It looks like you might fall...

If I am!
Another waste of everything you dreamed of,
I will let you down...
If I am!
Only here to as watch you suffer,
I will let you down...

The answers we find,
Are never what we had in mind.
So we make it up as we go along...
You don´t talk of dreams.
I won't mention tomorrow.
We won't make those promises that we can't keep...
I will never leave you!
I will not let you down!
I will never leave you!
I will not let you down!
