"The Masterplan"

Tabbed by Fred Lidskog

This is another one of my favorites by Oasis, truly an epic song and
another where our lads are accompanied by a string and horn section.
There's alot of weird chords used in this song, and the chords and
fills are sort of hard to hear (especially in the intro) because of the
string section, so keep an open mind when you see this transcription on
paper, because if you play the song, you'll hear these chords are pretty
much the right ones.

Chords used:

	 EADGBe
Am (x02210)
A7sus4 (x02030) or try (x05430)
Fmaj7/A (x03210)
C/B (x2x010)
C	(x32010)
D (xx0232)
E	(022100)
E7	(020100)
F	(x33211)
G	(3x0033)

Tab Key:

b = bend (7b8 means bend string at 7th fret to make approximately the note
the string would make if played at the 8th fret with no bend
r = release bend
h = hammer on
s = slide (a quick slide, sounds like one note)
/ = a slide where you play the first note, THEN slide to the second
() = harmonics, lightly touch the string directly above the fret listed
     and then pick the string

Intro:
-----

Chords used in intro:

Am (x07500)
Am/G# (x06500)
Am7 (x05500)
Am/F#	(x04500)
Fmaj7/A (x03500)
Am/D (x00500)
E7	(020100)

So here it goes:

  Am Am/G# Am7 Am/F# Fmaj7/A Am/D
e------------(12)-----(12)-------(19)-----------------|
B---------------------------(12)----------------------|
G-----------------------------------------------------|
D-----------------------------------------------------|
A-----------------------------------------------------|
E-----------------------------------------------------|

  Am E7
e---------0-----------------------------------------------|
B-------3---3---------------------------------------------|
G-------------0-------------------------------------------|
D---2s4---------------------------------------------------|
A---------------------------------------------------------|
E---------------------------------------------------------|

THEN: Repeat intro chords one more time through, with the second guitar
picking notes from the chords in a kind of random pattern, but which can
basically played like this:

  Am Am/G# Am/G
e------------0----------------------0---------------------|
B--------------0----------------------0-------------------|
G----5--4--5-----5----------5--4--5-----5-----------------|
D-7----------------7--7--6----------------6--6--5--etc.---|
A---------------------------------------------------------|
E---------------------------------------------------------|

Verse 1
-------
Am
Take the time to make some sense
   A7sus4
of what you want to say
    Fmaj7/A A7sus4 Am E7
and cast your words away upon the waves

Am
Sail them home with acquiesce
     A7sus4
On a ship of hope today
    Fmaj7/A A7sus4
And as they land upon the shore
D F
Tell them not to fear no more
G E E7
Say it loud, and sing it proud today And then

Chorus:
-------
C
Dance if you wanna dance
C/B
Please brother take a chance
Am
You know they're gonna go
G F G C G
Which way they wanna go
All we know is that we don't
C
Know how it's gonna be
C/B
Please brother let it be
Am
Life on the other hand
G F G
won't make you understand
		      Am A7sus4 Fmaj7/A A7sus4 Am E7
We're all part of the masterplan

NOTE: This little musical interlude has a guitar solo part being played
backwards. The following is that part tabbed as it sounds backwards.

Verse 2
-------
I'm not saying right is wrong
It's up to us to make
The best of all the things that come our way

'Cos everything that's been has passed
The answer's in the looking glass
There's four and twenty million doors
Down life's endless corridor
Say it loud and sing it proud today

And then
