NOTE: (2/09/2005)
-----------------
The Crystal Lake tab submitted by BigKirker is a complete theft of my work below.
Notice that his tab is basically a copy-paste job of mine in which two parts are modified.
The big tip-off is the spacing of the dashes and the fact that his key includes ghost notes,
yet no ghost note appears in the tab -- because he removed them after he copied my work.

What's worse is his claim that "there are too many dumb asses submitting either incomplete
or completely wrong tabs." If he was referring to me and my tab, I hold up my middle finger
even higher, because not only did he STEAL my complete (and highly rated) tab outright, his
alterations to it sound off to my ear.

BigKirker is exactly the type of MXer that drags down the quality of this database.
Instead of offering a simple correction to my tab, he jacked mine and claimed it as his own.
Made it worse, to boot.

I stand by my work, and implore you to disregard BigKirker and his tab.

Fine-tuned a few small things.

Title: Crystal Lake
Artist: Poison the Well
Album: You Come Before You
Tuning: Drop-D, down a whole step (CGCFAD)

Tabbed by: Seen K. Leeds (abandapar@socal.rr.com)

Key:
p   = pull-off
~   = ring out
()  = ghost note/optional
.   = palm mute
x   = dead note

The other "Crystal Lake" tab was off by a country mile (or for my metric-minded friends, a kilometer).
Either way, it was off in a big time, major way. This is a bit closer.

  I've seen live footage of PtW playing this song, and during the part where the bass goes --

-- Derek and Ryan fret the third string at the 4th fret and pick *above* the fretted note, while
also hitting the second-string harmonic on the 4th fret. It makes an odd squealing sound.
You can f' around with that a bit, or play the bass part above with the full open chord (either
way, you should play the palm-muted notes of the part above).

MX needs more quality "You Come Before You" tabs, so if you're reading this and it helps
you in any way, please think about contributing much-needed tabs for "View From Here...,"
"The Realist," "Pleasant Bullet," and "Meeting Again For the First Time."

Comments, corrections, kudos, and 'f-yous' are welcome (abandapar@socal.rr.com).
