Oblivion

Tuning: Drop Db (C#,G#,C#,F#,Bb or A#, Eb or D#)

The intro before and during the vocals is a C# powercord, played open and possibly on
the 12th fret. I can't tell how it is played because of the whole engine thing that
starts the song up. My amp has an effect called "magic drive" that sounds similar. So
for the first few seconds just play a C# powercord. Then, after Andrew says "..the messenger":

1. Intro after vocals:

Eb-------------------------------------------------------------
Bb-------------------------------------------------------------
F#-------------------------------------------------------------
C#--0-12-0-12-0-10-0-10-0-10\12--0-12-0-12-0-10-0-10-0-12\10---
G#--0-12-0-12-0-10-0-10-0-10\12--0-12-0-12-0-10-0-10-0-10\8----
C#--0-12-0-12-0-10-0-10-0-10\12--0-12-0-12-0-10-0-10-0---------

2. Verse Riff.

Eb-------------------------------------------------------------
Bb-------------------------------------------------------------
F#-----------------------12\14-14-14-14-14--12\14-14--12\14-15-
C#------------------------x--x--x--x--x--x---x--x--x---x--x--x-
G#-----------------------10\12-12-12-12-12--10\12-12--10\12-13-
C#--5-5-5-5-5-3-3-8-8------------------------------------------

3. As it goes from verse to chorus, there is a piece similar to the intro

Eb---------------------------
Bb---------------------------
F#---------------------------
C#--0h12-0h12-0h12-0h12-0h12-
G#--0h12-0h12-0h12-0h12-0h12-
C#--0h12-0h12-0h12-0h12-0h12-

4. The Chorus:

Eb---------------------------------------------------
Bb---------------------------------------------------
F#---------------------------------------------------
C#--12-12-12-12-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10--12-12-12-12-
G#--12-12-12-12-10-10-10-10--8--8--8--8--10-10-10-10-
C#--12-12-12-12-10-10-10-10--------------------------

Eb---------------------------------------------------
Bb---------------------------------------------------
F#---------------------------------------------------
C#--12-12-12-12-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10--8-8-8-8-----
G#--12-12-12-12-10-10-10-10--8--8--8--8--8-8-8-8-----
C#--12-12-12-12-10-10-10-10--------------8-8-8-8-----

5. During the "WhoooOoooOOOoooaa" part, this verse piece is played repeatedly

Eb----------------------------------------
Bb----------------------------------------
F#--12\14-14-14-14-14--12\14-14--12\14-15-
C#---x--x--x--x--x--x---x--x--x---x--x--x-
G#--10\12-12-12-12-12--10\12-12--10\12-13-
C#----------------------------------------

6. After the second chorus and whoa part, the verse piece plays and plays into the "Will
I find.." part, which eventually leads to this next piece. I think it's played during
the "You think the answer lies..."

Eb-----------------------------------------------------
Bb-----------------------------------------------------
F#--10-10-10-10--12-12-12-12--10-10-10-10--12-12-12-12-
C#--x--x--x--x----x--x--x--x---x--x--x--x---x--x--x--x-
G#--8--8--8--8---10-10-10-10---8--8--8--8--10-10-10-10-
C#-----------------------------------------------------

7. The Octave Solo. This is played rapidly with an up/down strum. Octaves in parenthesis
are played way too fast to count. I don't know how many times the 7s are played either.
During the last octave, the feedback kicks in. Listen to the CD for timing.

Eb--(10)---------------------------------------------------------------------
Bb---x-----<10>--<13>--11--13--11--------------------------------------------
F#--(7)-----x------x---x---x---x-----7---7---7---7---------------------------
C#--(0)----(7)---<10>--8---10--8---7---7---7---7-----------------------------
G#---------------------------------------------------------------------------
C#---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eb--------------------
Bb--<10>--<13>--<18>--
F#---x------x-----x---
C#--<7>---<10>--<15>--
G#--------------------
C#--------------------

8. One last piece. This is a simple change in the transition from
the last verse to the chorus. Slowly bend the last octave.

Eb--------------------------------
Bb--------------------------------
F#----------------------12-14-14^-
C#-----------------------x--x--x--
G#----------------------10\12-12^-
C#--5-5-5-5-5-3-3-8-8-------------
