The song is composed in the key of G minor. Near the end of the song, it sounds as
if it temporarily modulates to the relative major key of Bb. However, the F major
chord in the progression (Eb, Cm, Gm, F) could be explained as a V (F) tonicizing
a III (Bb) in the key of G minor and failing to resolve. It's arguable. In terms
of its rhythmic properties, the song conventionally utilizes common time (4/4) at
a tempo of approximately 80 beats per minute.
