Just so happens I've got that one on the machine.... Let's see now...
Oh yeah, a caveat, since I actually play mandolin I usually simpify guitar
chords, not knowing how to translate them there sus's and things... So this
might not be strictly chapter and verse, but it works. Enjoy.

Forty-Five Years (guitar - capo 3rd fret) - By Stan Rogers

           G
Where the Earth show it bones of wind broken stone

         D/F#
and the sea and the sky are one

     Am C
I'm caught out of time, my blood sings with wine

          D/F#
and I'm running naked in the sun

         G
There's God in the trees, I'm weak in the knees

        D/F#
and the sky is a painful blue

     Am C D/F# G
I'd like to look around, but Honey all I see is you.

CHORUS

Intro to chorus is G-C-G-D/F#

       C G C G
And I just want to hold you closer than I've ever held anyone before

               C G
You say you've been twice a wife and you're through with life

       Am Am/G D/F#
Ah but Honey what the hell's it for

        C G
After twenty-three years you'ld think I could find a way

            C G
to let you know somehow

        Am Am/G D/F# G
That I want to see your smiling face forty five years from now.

      G
The summer city lights will soften the night

          D
'Til you'd think that the air is clear

         Am C
And I'm sitting with friends where forty-five cents

      D
Will buy another glass of beer

            G
He's got something to say, but I'm so far away

         D
That I don't know who I'm talking to

         Am C D G
'Cause you just walked in the door, and Honey, All I see is you.

To Chorus

       G
So alone in the lights on stage every night

             D/F#
I've been reaching out to find a friend

      Am C
Who knows all the words, sings so she's heard

     D/F#
And knows how all the stories end

       G
Maybe after the show she'1l ask me to go

      D/F#
Home with her for a drink or two

         Am C D/F# G
Now her smile lights her eyes, but Honey, all I see is you.
