The song is supposed to be played with a capo on the 2nd fret but it sounds just
as good with no capo so it's up to you,

I figured this out from the vid of Tomas playing this live on youtube: http://
www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hd_M0DCqF4

He varies between strummed and arpegiated chords but it sounds fine if you just
play the bass note of the chord before strumming if that makes sense.

I'm quite sure this is all correct but if you spot a mistake leave a comment and I'll sort it out.

Intro: Bbm

Verse 1:

Bbm C#
So Marigold, my love, you've had too much to drink,

    F# G# F
And I need not remind you, our discount tickets for this sinking ship.

Bbm C#
Take-backs and sweet regrets, that's all that we have left.

F# G# F
No one is looking out for anyone but number one.

Bbm C#
One to one, two to dance, we all get our sweet romance,

       F# G# F
Though sour grapes will turn to wine, its all just vinegar with time,

  Bbm C# F#
And oh, you want to know, we all want to know,

        G# F
How can anybody treat somebody so?

Chorus:

Fm *C# (Play once and let ring) Fm
She said, It hurts too much, I said, It will never hurt enough,

                          *C# G#
No one will ever see these cuts, no one will ever call this bluff, but that's just the way...

Bbm G# F# C#
And when he left us he said, It's not so bad.

Bbm G# F# C#
That motherfucker, he took everything we had,

Bbm G# F# C#
And when I'm thinking back, I'm counting all the ways,

Bbm G# F# C#
Nobody helped us, so we dreamt of better days,

       G#
And we sang, That's just the way that...

Bbm F# C# G#
We used to be in love (my love!), but now we're just in like,

       Bbm F# C# G#
And we broke all our promises, and baby that ain't right

            Bbm F# C# G# Bbm F#
Because you don't know what it's like to lose it all........

C# G# Bbm F#
Noooooooooooo, Noooooooooooo

         C# G# Bbm
You were not on the receiving end of it all!

     F#
Noooooooooooo

         C# G# Bbm
You were not on the receiving end of it all!

            F# C# G#
You beg and plead, but no one here can save you -

Bbm F# C# G#
Why would they try when they can't quite save themselves?

Break: Bbm

Verse 2:

Bbm C#
So Marigold, someday we'll have to write a script,

    F# G# F Bbm
But I won't stop denying ashamed of all the selfish things we did.

                            C#
Dropped out of every single friendship that you had,

F# G# F Bbm
They nearly loved you, but you never could have loved somebody back.

                C# F# G#
Tell me of your sorrows, tell me everything from the start,

F Bbm
I'd like to do my part to help a friend in need -

C#
I said you could come to me,

F# G# F
But when you needed someone most, I wasn't there, I wasn't even...

Chorus:
