• Song:

    Annihilate The Corrupt Acoustic

  • Artist:

    Demon Hunter

This is from Demon Hunter's second album, "Summer of Darkness." I was
trying to learn it on this site when I realized the chords in the chorus
were actually really easy, so I tried making the rest of it into an
acoustic song...and this is what I came up with. I thought it would be nice
for some people to be able to hear the same lyrics presented differently.
I'll be posting my own recording of it on my profile if you want to
actually hear how I play and sing it. I think my guitar's tuned down a half
step, as well, just for reference.

Here are some funky chords I use in the first and second choruses and the
tag...all other chords are either normal chords or power chords exactly as
written.

Verse:
   Em C Em D
Behind the eyes of my compassion lies a suffering soul
    Em C Em D
And in my blood a bitter darkness slowly taking its toll
Em C Em
I feel the death of our connection and the fading of light
                              C D
Between the shards of sudden panic from choking on my life

   Em C Em D
I see the scars of your addiction and the feeling you hide
    Em C Em D
A blackened heart from all the hatred you will never rewind
Em C Em
Within the depths of your depression hear you pleading for help
                                C D
You're just a shell of vacant ruin, a portrait of myself

Prechorus 1:

E5 D6var D5
I am the face of your affliction
             A2var E5
Feeding new life through the cracks in your skull

Verse:
   Em C Em D
Beneath the skin of your aggression is a thickening fear
    Em C Em D
A swelling plague from every devastating voice that you hear
Em C Em

                       C D
Another day in your delusion, the never-ending death
