Confederate Railroad' When And Where Album

Mark Geronimo and Jimmy Alan Stewart
E
Well I was three days short of pullin out Bridgeport
      A
I was headed down to Houston town
       E
Had my guitar packed in a burlap sack
       F# B
For es cortin my country sound
  E
I bypassed Jackson, bypassed Memphis
       A
By the time I got to Arkansas
     E
Id-a sold my car and this black guitar
    B E
For anything cool and tall
     A E
So I pulled up to a neon sign on highway forty-nine
         A B
Shut the engine down, took a look around and then I stepped inside
  E A
I asked that bouncer where I was he said son your at Bills

With a waitress and change machine
       E
He was dolin out quarters to a waitress names Starr
       F# B
When I asked him if I could sing
         E
He said, son go ahead if you brought your guitar
        A
Then he pointed to the back stage door
         E
He said, we don't like original material
   B E
Un less its been done be fore

        B
And the one about the pearly street
     E A
That lead guitar was like a chain saw that fiddle like a power drill at Bill's

Well in the few short minutes I was up on stage
       A
Lookin back at country cowboys face
       E
With a perfect view I was witness to
        F# B
The des truction of the whole damn place
       E
It was long necked hims and white fringed hems
      A
Flyin out of that dodge saloon
             E
And that me chanical bull was a Houston pull
       B E
To the safest place in the room
       A
Well a punch-drunk cowboy showed his wife
         E
That his shirt was soaked in beer
          A
She said, calm down honey have another lite
             B
Cause we can wash the shirt right here
         E A
Then the whole place stopped to thank me for bookin my show at Bill's
B
Honky tonk pickin, line dance kickin, razor back stickin, barbecue chicken
                   E
