You can play power chords or regular chords I think they use the power chords for the verse.

 E5 B5 G5
She fills my bed with gasoline
 D5 C5
 You think I would've noticed
 E5 B5 G5
Her mind's made up The love is gone
         D5 C5
I think someone's trying to show us a sign
 E5 B5 G5
That even if we thought it would last
 D5 C5
 The moment would pass
 E5 B5 G5
My bones will break and my heart would give
 D5 C5
 Oh, it hurts to live

Chorus:
 E5 G5 D5
And I remember the day when you left for Santa Monica
                C5 D5
You left me to remain with all your excuses for everything
 E5 G5 D5
And I remember the time when you left for Santa Monica
 C5 D5
And I remember the day you told me it's over

Em chord (down,down,up)... H* 12th fret e..b. H*
7th fret g..gG chord (down,down,up) G chord (down,up)
but when you do the upstroke move your finger on the

slight change you here... H* 5th fret a,d,g strings all together.

Verse:
 E5 B5 G5
It hurts to breathe, Well every time
 D5 C5
that you're not next to me
 E5 B5 G5
Her mind's made up, The girl is gone
 D5 C5
And now I'm forced to see
 E5 B5 G5
I think I'm on my way
 D5 C5
Oh, it hurts to live today
 E5 B5 G5
Oh and she says "Don't you wish
 D5 C5
 you were dead like me?"

 Chorus:
 E5 G5 D5
And I remember the day when you left for Santa Monica
                C5 E5
You left me to remain with all your excuses for everything
 E5 G5 D5

And I remember the day when you left for Santa Monica
                  C5 E5
You left me to remain with all your excuses for everything
                   G5 D5
And I remember the time when you left for Santa Monica
                 C5
Yeah, I remember the day you told me it's over

Well thats it just get the strumming figured out and enjoy.
That harmonic part after the first chorus I couldn't really
figure out by ear but it works for me I'm sure it's not
totally correct but the rest of the song should be fairly
close. Enjoy.
