Song Title: Wounded Bird
TBC Original? Yes
Written By: Chris and Rich Robinson
Recording Session: Warpaint
Record: Warpaint
Live Debut: 03/02/2008
Shows: 45 times played live
Notes: This song was recorded in July, 2007 at Allaire Studios, Shokan, NY. It was
produced by Paul Stacey and The Black Crowes.

“Rich came up with that riff and it all fell out from that. It's a song about loss
but with the realization that nothing can really kill you. This life is an
experience and we can't hide from any of it. It's kind of harsh but it definitely
represents letting go. It's the only Taoist rock song on the album.” - Chris
Robinson

Tuning: DGDGBD (Open G)

Unlike I first thought, this one is in fact in open G (well, Rich plays it live in
that tuning, and some of the positions do make more sense that way, so I'm going
to assume it was recorded in open G as well). This tab contains the rhythm guitar
only, and is not transcribed note for note.

For the second chorus, cut out the last two measures and continue straight into the interlude...

Interlude: | First Ending

|Second Ending
|-------------------|
|----------------2--|
|--------2-------2--|
|----2-4---4-2-4-2--|
|--2-------------2--|

This whole figure is played four times. The last time through continue on to the
second ending. It's hard to tell what Rich is doing here, the sound gets a little
muddy, but this will suffice. After the interlude, the chorus is repeated, and
Rich repeatedly hits the chords over the "set your mind to fly" lyrics and
Luther's slide lines.
