Big Time Talk In A Small Town
 (Rich McCready/Brian Dean Maher)

Billy and Dave talking nuts and bolts
Over scrambled eggs and a slice of toast
They work a hard day from 8 'til 5
Fixin' up cars just to stay alive
And there's old John sittin' two seats down
He owns a farm just south of town
Still a carrying on about last week's rain
Things around here kinda stay the same
And they never made it past the city limit sign
'Cause the life they're livin' suits them fine

The fish are biting hard down on turnaround creek
There's a homecoming game later on this week
Everybody's bettin' on who's gonna win or lose
There's a new movie showin' at the old drive-in
And everybody's cluckin' like a bunch of ole hens
Stories gettin' bigger every time that they go around
And that's big time talk in a small town

Sarah's pourin' coffee like she always has
She graduated first at the top of her class
Everybody said she was gonna go far
But she's happy with things just the way they are
Well, here I am now with a boy of my own
Lookin' for a place we could call our own
I've seen the life past that city limit sign
From what I've heard here this will do just fine
