A great song by a great band, this is how I play it with my band.

We play the G and the F as the top four strings in the F shape bar chord, and then we
play the Dm7 like this:
and then slide it up to the third fret for the Em7

Verse:

Am F
I've got a key
      G Am
And a piece of paper in my pocket deep
              F G
In my pocket piece of paper and a key
As i wander through the street
War is there a war
or is there isn't a war anymore?
Somebody told me that nothing is for sure
Can you hear the ocean roar?

Pre Chorus:

        Dm7 Em7
On each street is a tree
                         Am
In the distance the desert sleeps
Sometimes a sigh is a song
And a breath is a melody
Oceans rise and oceans fall
So just what does tomorow mean?
I give a smile I give a song
For one moments eternity

[Chorus]
Am F G
Na na na na na na na na na na na
Em7 Am Dm7 Em7
Na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na

Verse:

Oh but it's some mob
Some mob that brought me here i know it is my job
To seek my fortune Nanna thank you for this mob
Remember you now you are gone
If i went away
Tropical island somewhere sunny every day
But everyone i ever cared about remained
Would i tan or would i fade?

Pre Chorus:

So every morning he wake
Spend his day at the daybreak
And every spoonful he take
Be of something his own make
Mountains rise and mountains fall
So just what does forever mean?
I give a smile I give a song
For one moments eternity

[Chorus]

Then it goes on to be a whole lot of stabs (all Am) and then there is a trumpet solo
over the verse before it goes back into the Pre Chorus and then the Chorus
