D
Though I may speak some tongue of old,
     D/G D A D
Or even spit out some holy word,
D
I have no strength with which to speak
           D/G D A D
When you sit me down and see I?m weak.

(Melody Line)

        G D
We will run and scream,
         G D
You will dance with me,
         G D A
We?ll fulfill our dreams, and we?ll be free.

        G D
We will run and scream,
         G D
You will dance with me,
         G D A
We?ll fulfill our dreams, and we?ll be free.
        G D
We will be who we are,
            G D
And they?ll heal our scars;
        G D A
Sadness will be far away.

(Melody Line x 2)

D
So I had done wrong but you put me right.
   D/G D A D
My judgment burned in the black of night.
D
When I give less than I take
     D/G D A D
It is my fault, my own mistake.

        G D
We will run and scream,
         G D
You will dance with me,
         G D A
We'll fulfill our dreams, and we?ll be free.
        G D
We will be who we are,
            G D
And they?ll heal our scars;
       G D A
Sadness will be far away.

*Notes and Notations*
1. This is a very straightforward song, though the recording insinuates much more than
what is going on in the guitar part. The progressive and very powerful melody is actually
handled by a combination of piano, five string open back banjo, cello, and the highland
bagpipes. That being said, I tabbed out the melody line in chord fashion for a bit of
extra challenge. In honesty, the entirety of the verses are played with deviations on a
D chord, but that?s not exactly fun nor intriguing tablature, now is it?
2. Due to the nature of uploading for these tabs, and I'm not sure if it will come
through, any time you see a weird series of code, that is where an apostrophe was
supposed to be.
3. Coincidence aside, yes, the three big songs from Brave are all in D major with
similar time signatures and chord patterns. D major is incredibly common in Gaeilge (Irish)
and Gaidhlig (Scottish) music. As for the key signatures, it?s mere coincidence.
4. Once more, feel free to request tabs for any folk music you happen to come across.
Just don?t ask me to tab out rock?I don?t do the electric instruments.
5.Seilbheich; meal dibhearsain. (Have fun)
