Is this how Chicago played it?

Hi CPW Kruger, this is a much simplified, modified version for novice guitar players like myself. I have loved this song since high school in the 70's. Last year I started learning guitar (I am 51 years old), and recently I put the lyrics with the basic chord progression shown here and it works okay for a novice. I don't think my skills are any where close to being able to play it like Chicago. Especially with the great horns, keys, and drums of this song. But I hope there are many novice players like myself who will find this version helpful. Peace, John

I hear ya John! However if I could, I'd like to make acouple (x02210@1)of suggestions that would be more accurate to the song, and still preserve amore (x02210@1)novive version.|G |Am7 |G |G You are my love and my life, You are my in-spiration |C |D6 |C |D6 Just you and me, simple and free|Am7 |C |D |D | Baby you're every-thing I've ever dreamed of play the D6exactly (xx04xx@1)like a (x02210@1)name="chord_xx0232@1">D chord--just leave the Bstring (x2444x@1)open!
